Documenting everything — what records should you take home?
Lesson I keep seeing from people with complications: they didn't have their records. What should we ask for?

Operative report (in English), list of implants/materials with brand, meds prescribed, discharge instructions, CT/x-rays if taken, receipts.

Keep a copy of everything somewhere off your phone too (email it to yourself). If you ever need to talk to a doctor back home or an insurer, they'll want the paperwork, not your memory of it.
