Brow position vs eyelid — how do you tell which one is causing the hooded look?

Sorry if this is a weird one. My upper lids look heavy, especially in photos, but when I lift my eyebrows with a finger the "hood" mostly disappears. Is that something a consult would look at, i.e. whether it's the lid or the brow? I don't want to ask about the wrong thing and get sold the wrong thing. Not planning anything soon, just trying to understand my own face.

Not weird at all, and that finger test is exactly the kind of thing to show them. A consult should look at both the lid and the brow and tell you which is doing what. Good question to ask directly: "if I only did the lid, what would happen to the brow, and vice versa?" If a clinic only ever talks about one option without explaining why, that's worth noting.
